A listing consists of the property info along with individual rental sites for humans and sites to accommodate your guest's horses. Follow the prompts of the onboarding flow to enter your property info, one human site and one horse site.
The onboarding process to set up your property on GiddyUp GetAway is designed to be as painless as possible. You will need to sign up as a User before you can create your listing.
📒 Note: Here is what you will need to get started:
- 5 horizontal photos of your property. Consider including the property entrance, barn and facilities, and a special feature like a pond or a pretty view.
It might seem a little overwhelming to consider all of the possibilities of human and horse sites that you can set up and rent out. Don't get discouraged. I have some tips below to make the onboarding process smooth and simple.
Let's start by setting up your property. You will be asked the following questions and given a series of possible answers to choose from:- What kind of property will you host?
- What is the acreage of your property?
- What kind of amenities does your property offer?
- Is your property a Vacation Destination?
- Where is your property located?
💡 Tip: Use a placeholder photo:
You are required to enter all 5 photos at this time. You can enter a placeholder photo in all 5 places and replace them later using your smart phone. Be sure you replace the placeholder photos before you publish you listing! Use your smart phone to take landscape oriented pictures and upload them directly into our mobile friendly host dashboard. Do not use photos taken in LIVE mode.
Next, you will need to give your listing a name. You can create a compelling listing by giving your property a unique name. The property name should be short, yet inviting. A great name will create interest from your viewers and encourage them to dig deeper into all your property has to offer.
The last step in setting up your property info is to write a description. You should give general info when describing your property in the description box. This is where you will brag about all the special qualities you and your property can offer guests. Be sure to highlight info regarding the surrounding area that might interest your guests. You should not use this space to give specific details about individual sites. You will be able to highlight specific sites when you start entering their info later in the process.
After you enter the description about your property, click Continue. Now you have some options:
- You can save your progress and come back later to enter your first human site, or
- You can Set Up a Human Site now.
Let's Set Up Your First Human Site
📒 Note: Here is what you will need to get started:
- 5 horizontal (landscape orientation) photos of the site. Use a place holder photo, if needed.
- Do NOT use photos taken in 'live' mode.
After you read the tips, click Continue, and you will see the following screen. Select Horse Trailer Site if you have a parking slip for your guests to park their horse trailer that they will be sleeping in. Scroll down to answer all of the questions regarding this human site. Or if you have accommodations for guests that do not have living quarters in their horse trailer, you will click Housing Provided By Host. A new set of questions will appear. Be sure to scroll down to answer all of the questions regarding this housing site.
Click Continue.
The next page will ask you to locate this site on your property. This will allow guests to preview how close or far they will be from other guests, barn facilities, horse sites etc. Click and drag the blue marker to the correct location of this site on your property.
Click Continue.
On the following screen, you will upload the cover photo and 4 more photos of this site. Click Continue.
Next, you will set the nightly price for this site. You also have the option of setting a cleaning fee if you choose. It is recommended that you charge a cleaning fee for Housing Provided By Host, especially if you provide all of the linens and towels etc.
After you enter the description about this human site, click Continue. Now you have some options again:
- You can delete 🗑️ or edit 🖊️ the site you just entered, or
- You can add another human site.
Let's click Continue
- You can save your progress and come back later to enter your first horse site, or
- You can Set Up a Horses Site now.
Let's follow the onboarding flow and set up your first horse site.

You will be asked the following questions and given a series of possible answers to choose from:
- What type of horse accommodation do you offer?
- What is the approximate size of this horse site?
- What is the flooring/ground for this site?
- What kind of walls/fencing does this site have?
- What is the roof/covering like?
Click Continue.
The next page will ask you to locate this horse site on your property. This will allow guests to preview how close or far their human site will be from their horse rental site, barn facilities, and other features on your property. Click and drag the blue marker to the correct location of this site on your property.
Click Continue.
Then, you will be prompted to enter a cover photo for this horse site and 4 additional photos. These must be horizontal (landscape orientation). Remember to use a placeholder photo, if needed.
Click Continue.
Now it's time to give this horse site a name and description. I suggest using a name that will help you distinguish between multiple similar sites. (Example, Horse Stall 1, Horse Stall 2, Horse Stall 3 etc.)
Click Continue.
Next, you will set the nightly rate for this horse site. You also have the option of charging a cleaning fee. I suggest you only charge a cleaning fee if you provide bedding and stall mucking out for your guests. Most guests will want the option of cleaning up after their own horses to keep costs down.
Click Continue.
Now you have some options again:
- You can delete 🗑️ or edit 🖊️ the site you just entered, or
- You can Add another horse site manually or
- You can Save your progress and come back later. I SUGGEST THIS OPTION EVEN IF YOU HAVE MORE HORSE SITES TO SET UP. SEE BELOW:
When you are ready to add more horse sites to your listing, you can use our Make A Copy button to save a lot of time. Here is how it works:
1. After you have entered the first horse site and you have saved your progress, you can easily duplicate that site info into additional similar sites and save lots of time entering the data.
- Sign in to your user account, click your Profile Icon.
- In the dropdown menu, select Host Dashboard.
- Then click Listings in the header.
- On the table of hosted properties, click the Actions button next to the property listing you want to change.
- In the dropdown menu, select Edit.
- On the left navigation bar, select Edit Horse Sites.
- Next to the horse site you already entered, click the Actions button.
- In the dropdown menu, click Make A Copy.
2. Now you will see the replica, or copy of your first horse stall in the table of horse sites. To the right of the new copied site, click Edit.
3. Let's give this site a unique name. I use Horse stall 2 on my listing.
4. Now you can go through the page and make any adjustments to this site's info. Check for accuracy. Change out the photos if needed. Move the site's pin location on your property map to show the location of this site.
5. Click Save. Continue adding all of your horse sites, giving each one a different name for clarity.
Let's click Continue to Publish
If you went through the onboarding flow without saving and coming back later to finish, you will now see a preview of your property listing. Check it over to make sure it is accurate. If everything looks perfect, click Connect Stripe. You will need to set up your account with Stripe before you publish your listing.
Here are your publishing instructions If you needed to tweak your listing and publish at a later time. After you finish adding all of your human sites and all of your horse sites to your property listing and you are ready to publish, follow these steps to publish:
- Profile Icon (in upper right corner)

- Listings
- Actions
- Publish (Note: if you have not created your Stripe account, you will be prompted to do so before the listing is published to our website. Need help with Stripe set up?)
