Qualified hosts can be added as Additional Insureds to GiddyUp GetAway’s commercial liability insurance policy. This provides an extra layer of liability protection related specifically to bookings made on our platform.

Added Protection for Reservations Booked Through Our Platform

When a reservation is booked through GiddyUpGetAway.com, qualifying hosts may be added as Additional Insureds to GiddyUp GetAway’s commercial liability insurance policy. This provides an extra layer of liability protection related specifically to bookings made on our platform.

This benefit is designed to support our hosts — not replace your own insurance — and applies only under specific conditions outlined below.

 

What This Coverage Does

Provides an additional layer of liability protection
Hosts may be covered as an Additional Insured for certain third-party claims (such as bodily injury or property damage) arising out of a reservation booked through GiddyUp GetAway.

Includes legal defense, when applicable
If a covered claim is made, the policy may provide legal defense costs, subject to policy terms and limits.

Applies only to GiddyUp GetAway reservations
Coverage is limited to incidents that arise directly from reservations booked through our website.

No additional cost to hosts
This benefit is included as part of hosting on the GiddyUp GetAway platform.

 

Host Qualification Requirements

To qualify for this benefit, hosts must:

  • Carry their own primary liability insurance policy
  • Maintain coverage limits equal to or greater than GiddyUp GetAway’s policy which is currently $1M per occurrence/ $2M aggregate
  • Remain in good standing on the GiddyUp GetAway platform
  • Book reservations through GiddyUpGetAway.com

This requirement aligns with standard insurance practice and ensures proper coordination between policies.

 

Important Limitations to Know

  • This coverage does not replace your personal or commercial farm/host insurance.
  • Coverage limits are shared and are not in addition to your own policy limits.
  • Only claims that fall within the policy’s terms, conditions, and exclusions are covered.
  • Coverage applies only to liability claims, not damage to your own property, horses, or equipment.

 

Host Insurance FAQ

Does this replace my own insurance?

No.
Your own liability policy is required and remains your primary coverage. GiddyUp GetAway’s policy provides an additional layer of protection, not a substitute.

 

What types of claims may be covered?

Depending on the situation and policy terms, coverage may apply to:

  • Bodily injury to third parties
  • Property damage to third-party property
  • Certain personal or advertising injury claims
    Only when arising from a GiddyUp GetAway booking

 

What is NOT covered?

This policy does not cover:

  • Damage to your own property, barns, fences, or horses
  • Intentional acts or criminal activity
  • Professional services or advice
  • Employment-related claims
  • Cyber incidents or data breaches
  • Claims unrelated to GiddyUp GetAway bookings
  • Claims that fall outside policy exclusions (environmental, PFAS, silica, etc.)

 

Do I need to do anything to be added as an Additional Insured?

Yes. You will need to complete the opt-in form which is located on the Reservations page of your Host Dashboard. Click the green button labeled Liability Insurance.

  • Only qualified hosts will be covered as an additional insured
  • You must maintain qualifying primary insurance
  • Booking reservations must be made through GiddyUpGetAway.com

 

Are coverage limits higher because I’m added?

No.
Any coverage provided to hosts as Additional Insureds is part of, not in addition to, the policy’s existing limits.

 

What should I do if there’s an incident?

  • Address any immediate safety concerns
  • Notify your own insurance carrier
  • Notify GiddyUp GetAway as soon as possible
  • Preserve any documentation related to the incident

Prompt reporting is important under all insurance policies.

 

Why does GiddyUp GetAway require hosts to have their own insurance?

Because hosting horses involves inherent risk, maintaining your own primary insurance:

  • Protects you first
  • Ensures faster claims handling
  • Allows GiddyUp GetAway’s policy to function as intended — as an added safeguard.

 

How To Sign Up:

If you are a current host with GiddyUp GetAway and would like to apply to be covered as an additional insured, please complete the opt-in form in your Host Dashboard. 

You will receive a confirmation certificate of insurance from my insurance agency once you or your business is added as an additional insured.

2. Click on your profile icon on the upper right corner.

3. In the dropdown menu, select Host Dashboard.

4. On the Reservations page, select the green button labeled Liability Insurance.
